A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Prison Murder of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the death in prison of former Lostprophets singer and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to police authorities.

Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were taken as evidence.
